Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash: From Bare Bones to Fully Loaded with $40 DLC

Based on the popular anime, Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash is a 3D arena fighter that debuted earlier this year to a lackluster reception. Both fans and critics bemoaned its small material and unimpressive lineup. But at a high price, Bandai Namco appears to have remedied these issues with a good dose of DLC.

With the release of two significant DLC packs, “Hidden Inventory/Premature Death” and “Shibuya Incident,” the game now has a significant quantity of new content. This features an extra baseball minigame, story quests, and new playable characters. The game is now closer to its full potential thanks to this infusion of material, but it still costs a hefty $40. Fans are now debating whether the game should have been postponed to include this content in the base game.

A Story of Two Publications

Only 15 playable characters, a small number of game modes, and an unfinished story mode were included when Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash first came out. Many gamers were dissatisfied by this, especially considering the anime’s abundance of source material.

As we go forward to the present, the game has changed significantly. Fan favorites including Toji Fushiguro, student versions of Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto, and even characters from the Shibuya Incident arc—a crucial point in the Jujutsu Kaisen plot—have been added to the roster by the DLC packs.

Too Much Content, At a Cost

The “Hidden Inventory/Premature Death” DLC explores Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto’s pasts while concentrating on the “Hidden Inventory” and “Premature Death” arcs from Jujutsu Kaisen’s second season. As the name implies, the “Shibuya Incident” DLC covers the dramatic events of the Shibuya Incident arc, a significant turning point in the story of the anime.

The game’s story mode has been greatly expanded by these changes, giving players a more thorough and interesting experience. But the fact that this content is protected behind a paywall—and a pretty costly one at that—has drawn criticism.

The Dilemma of DLC

Many gamers wonder if this stuff ought to have been part of the original game from the beginning. Some contend that it is unjust to release an unfinished game and then charge more for the necessary content. Others argue that when the game launches, producers may keep adding new content and maintaining the game thanks to the DLC model.

Whatever one’s stance on this matter, there is no denying that Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash is a far more comprehensive and entertaining game with the DLC. A major upgrade over the standard game is provided by the improved gameplay elements, more story missions, and an enlarged roster.

Another Chance?

Those who were initially put off by the game’s unimpressive launch state may want to give the DLC some thought. Although it costs more, it successfully turns Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash into the game that many fans had hoped for.

Nonetheless, there is still disagreement on the DLC’s price. Given that competing anime fighting games provide more material for less money, some gamers could find it hard to justify shelling out an extra forty dollars on top of the game’s original cost.

Jujutsu Kaisen Games’ Prospects

The future of Jujutsu Kaisen video game adaptations is called into question with the publication of Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash and its follow-up DLC. Will upcoming games take this lesson into account and release a more comprehensive package? Or is the DLC model going to remain the standard?

Time will tell. If fans are prepared to pay the fee, they can enjoy the enhanced and extended Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash in the interim.
